Beginning with the Class of 2011, Calvary Baptist Academy has chosen to require all students to meet the new Michigan Department of Education graduation standards signed into law April 20, 2006 as Public Act 123 and 124 for the Michigan Merit Curriculum with the exception of the required health/physical education component and the online course requirement.

REQUIRED CREDITS for Graduation (Michigan Merit/a.k.a. College Prep)

  • 4 credits Bible (or 1 credit per year at CBA)
  • 4 credits Mathematics: students must pass Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2
  • 4 credits English Language Arts
  • 4 credits Science: students must pass Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry & Physics
  • 3 credits Social Studies.
  • 2 credits in language other than English*
  • 1 credits Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts class
  • 3 elective credits in any discipline

25 credits total

  • 4 credits Bible (or 1 credit per year at CBA)
  • 4 credits Mathematics
  • 4 credits English Language Arts
  • 4 credits Science
  • 3 credits Social Studies
  • 1 credits Visual, Performing, or Applied Arts class
  • 5 elective credits in any discipline

25 credits total

*Foreign Language taken through Rosetta Stone or outside of CBA may be substituted for Spanish.

Note: Credits toward high school graduation may be earned in 8th grade for Algebra I and Spanish I.
