Tuesday October 14, Calvary's JV girl's basketball team took
on Springfield Christian Academy at Springfield. The team was still
suffering from the loss of their starter Jessica Costello, but fought
hard to keep pace with the Eagles. Starters for the game included
Stephanie Murrell, Janie Mayer, Kiersten Hall, Hope Matson, and Elisabeth
Buck. The lady kings fought hard to hold the Eagles at 10 points for
the first half, but only had two points themselves. Within the second
half the Eagles put up 14 more points, and the Kings were limited
to only two.
Friday October 17, The Lady King's JV basketball team played
their final game of the season against Faith of Davidson Eagles.
The starters for the game were Jill Deleeuw, Jannica Schuelke, Sarah
Furnier, Kiersten Hall, and Hope Matson. The team was still recovering
from the loss of Krista Green, Jessica Costello, and Elisabeth Buck.
Within the first half the Eagles scored an amazing twenty points
to hold the lead at the half, with the Kings only holding four.
The Lady's defense kept the Eagles at only eight points for the
second half. Starter Kiersten Hall put up eight for Calvary in the
third quarter, and Hope Matson helped with another two in the fourth.
The last game of the season ended with a disappointing loss for
the girls, with the Eagles walking away with a 28 to 14 win.
